We are looking for a Program Manager to join a team of security professionals who are responsible for managing global events security at Amazon. In this position you will need to be a strong leader, excellent collaborator and be able to communicate clear and compellingly at all levels of the company. The Program Manager will have the overall responsibility for the management and leadership of the cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive security support at highly visible and virtual events, manage and control costs, and drive alignment and execution of deliverables. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to work independently, think critically, create/revise vital security documents based on risk/threat, plus prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced and challenging environment that requires significant attention to detail. This role will coordinate and work closely with Event Managers (Marketing, non-security), stakeholders, production companies, Convention Center venue staff, Law Enforcement contacts, and multiple partners across our internal teams. You will be focused on how to grow, scale and optimize efforts in a high-tech, fast pace, physical environment. Key job responsibilities • Provide briefings/feedback to stakeholders and PS Leadership. • Manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal business partners. • Negotiate and manage contracted vendors and budget. • Develop new plans and roadmaps in collaboration with team members and stakeholders. • Build and maintain business relationships internally, as well as with external partners. • Be clear and concise written and verbal communications. • Navigate an ambiguous, low oversight role and thrive in uncertainty by applying proactive behavior towards problem solving. • Analyze key priorities, identify gaps, create plans to close gaps. • Utilize tools and standards for managing security for events. • Ensure critical timelines are met, particularly in narrow timeframes. • Collaborate with cross functional teams and bring new ideas to revitalize program. • Think strategically in day-to-day operations to execute decisions. • Manage risks, incidents, and issues with confidence and assurance. • Ability to Hire, Develop, and Lead a Team. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management, Communications or similar field. • 5+ years of relevant experience in Event Management, Program Management, or Business Development. • Demonstrated ability to work with global teams. • Travel is required sometimes with short and/or no-notice. • Ability to manage competing objectives with grace in a fast paced environment. • Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and deadline management. • 24/7 on-call availability. Preferred Qualifications • MBA or master’s degree in Business Management or related field. • One or more professional certifications, such as PMP, CMP or other comparable certifications. • Remarkable project management skills. • Strong technical, analytic, and communication skills (both written and verbal). • Ability to articulate ideas and influence stakeholders, at ease when dealing with senior management. • Able to work in a diverse team. • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, as well as strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio. • Shall be highly self-motivated to see tasks through to completion, be well organized, and adhere to compliance with timelines and deadlines. • High ethical standards with proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment, discretion, and diplomacy. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $170,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
