Job Overview We are a prominent manufacturer in the premium raw pet food sector, seeking a dedicated Buyer to join our expanding team. This pivotal role involves ensuring our beloved pets have access to the finest ingredients available in the market. Key Responsibilities Identify and procure high-quality raw materials essential for our pet food recipes, including meat, poultry, vitamins, and packaging. Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries and competitive pricing, with opportunities to attend industry conferences for networking. Uphold stringent quality standards for all ingredients to maintain our reputation for excellence. Accurately generate purchase orders to support seamless production operations. Collaborate effectively with production, quality assurance, and finance teams to ensure cohesive workflow. Analyze procurement data to uncover trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and refine our processes. Ensure compliance with all purchasing regulations and practices. Required Skills Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry. Proficient negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers. Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP software is advantageous. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Qualifications Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within the food manufacturing context. A track record of successfully negotiating contracts with suppliers is a plus. Knowledge of import/export regulations may be beneficial (if applicable).
