A unique Opportunity to Join a team of Mainframe to Cloud Experts - W2 Only, no C2C. Enterprise DB2/ZOS Data Migration Specialist - 100% remote USA As part of the larger team, Data Migration Specialist may extract data from a variety of legacy mainframe databases, map the raw data to new database systems in either the cloud or on-premises data solutions. This position is responsible for extracting, mapping, formatting, and importing client data from legacy systems into cloud-based data environments. They must understand data structure, determine data relationships to properly map data into the most strategic areas within the new data structures. Big Three - Experienced knowledge of database backups, and database mapping including (SAN/NAS), and SME of data archiving technologies, such as tape, optical and hierarchical storage management (HSM) systems. Remote, but strong preference to East Coast and Central Time Zones zOS and/or Unisys based Database systems, and proven knowledge of Windows Server, and SQL based Database solutions in cloud environments. Can NOT do sponsorship (no C2C) for these roles. Can be contract, or contract to hire. USC and GC(perm resident only, NO EAD please); no remotes outside of USA (including no Canada/Quebec désolé) Responsibilities: Export customer data from legacy databases (ETL) Update taxonomy changes to reflect code changes in migrated mainframe code. Map legacy database files to newly configured database solutions. Work with Project Managers and Engineers to further interpret and map customer data. Collaborate with our world-class Sales Team to review prospective customer data and provide a pricing quote. Validate the data in both the original and destination systems. Analyze the methods of transforming existing data into a format for the new environment and choose the best solution for the clients situation. Relational database experience required. Scripting language(var) skill & SQL(var) skill required Requirements: STRONG REMOTE COMMUNICATIONS and CONNECTION to remote teams 5-10 years experience as tech/migration Developer in complex multi-use enterprise environments including experience with large scale enterprise systems implementation and big system remediation Application Replatforming Experience (Solutions Architecture) from Mainframe zOS and/or Unisys based Database systems Mainframe DB2/VSAM to (MS)SQL Server based solutions Data Architecture Experience(var) (bonus)Enterprise & Solutions Application migration Experience of high volume transactional Applications Strong enterprise application software architecture, solutions architecture *Obviously, the best candidates will have financial systems mainframe knowledge, as well as experience with migrations of large systems to both vendor packages and custom built hybrid cloud and on-premise applications.
