About The Role The IT Analyst position supports the Caterpillar IT Function with assisting in areas like development, testing and implementing application systems across the enterprise. The IT Analyst position requires proficiency in core application systems, problem solving, application design/architecture, implementation, system and technology integration and system testing. You will work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that span various applications. The IT Analyst adds value to the enterprise through its support of both internal and external/partner systems and applications. What You Will Do: Responsibilities of the IT Analyst position include but are not limited to: • Participates in IT functions like developing, coding, and testing computer programs • Assisting in preparing technical and procedural documentation. • Assisting with detailed flowcharts to show processing logic for simple application programs. • Participating in contributing solutions for programming system operations, including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. While this list is always evolving, here are examples of teams that you can be placed in depending on Caterpillar IT workforce needs. • Cybersecurity • Computer Forensics • Identity Access Management • Applications • Cloud • Infrastructure Services • Enterprise Data Services • Treasury Process & Technology • Embedded Software Development / Network Connectivity What You Will Have-Skills and Experiences • Proficiency in any of the computer software applications or programming languages or technologies • Examples include Java, JavaScript, SQL, Db2, .NET, C, C++, C#, User Experience, HTML, AWS and Azure • Demonstrated leadership experience and desire to take initiative • Previous internship in Information Technology • Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and interpersonal skills • Strong problem solving and customer service skills • Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed • Ability to work independently and manage time as well as being a collaborative team member • Able to manage own duties including setting priorities • Familiar with company policies and procedures Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a technical-related degree from a four-year accredited college/university • Graduation Date between December 2024 and August 2025 • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0 on 4.0 scale (without rounding) • Previous technical internship or work experience outside of classroom setting Additional Information • Please attach your resume and an unofficial copy of your transcript to your application. • Applicants will be considered for positions in Peoria, Irving, and Nashville • Relocation is available. • Sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
