About The Role We are seeking dedicated educators to contribute their expertise as Virtual Part-Time School-Based Special Education Teachers. Job Overview In this position, you will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities. By working closely with families, fellow educators, and support staff, you will ensure that each student’s unique needs are addressed through customized educational plans and engaging virtual teaching methods. Key Responsibilities • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. • Deliver Instruction: Utilize evidence-based teaching practices and adaptive technologies to enhance student learning in a virtual format. • Collaborate with Educators: Partner with general education teachers to promote inclusive practices and seamlessly integrate students with disabilities into mainstream classroom activities. • Monitor Progress: Regularly assess student progress, maintain thorough records, and communicate with parents/guardians about students’ achievements and areas for improvement. • Manage Behavior: Employ behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement to cultivate a supportive virtual learning atmosphere. • Participate in Meetings: Take part in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and comply with special education regulations. Qualifications • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution. • Licensing: Valid Louisiana Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education. • Certification: Completion of the Louisiana Department of Education’s background check and certification requirements. • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based environment. • Knowledge: Familiarity with special education laws, regulations, and best practices. • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members in a virtual setting. • Commitment: A genuine passion for fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience that promotes growth and development for students with disabilities.
