Job Description: As a School Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in addressing the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of students. You will work closely with students, families, and school staff to create a positive and supportive school environment. This role is an independent contractor position, and you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while fulfilling the responsibilities outlined below. Key Responsibilities: • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, and family problems. • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective intervention strategies. • Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop personalized treatment plans. • Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies. • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress. • Develop and deliver workshops and training for staff and parents on relevant social-emotional topics. • Advocate for students’ needs and connect them with additional resources and community services as needed. • Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and programs. Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution. • Valid state licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW or equivalent) • Active 310 Certification or Current Full Approval For School Social Worker Letter from the Michigan Department of Education. • Proven experience working with children and adolescents in a school or clinical setting. • Strong understanding of school systems and educational environments. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
