Virtual Part-Time School-Based Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in special education, a passion for individualized instruction, and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and support staff in a remote setting.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals. Provide direct instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies and adaptive technologies to facilitate student learning and skill development in a virtual setting. Collaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusive classroom practices and support the integration of students with disabilities into mainstream activities. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student achievements and areas for improvement. Apply behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies to create a supportive and nurturing virtual learning environment. Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution. Valid Louisiana Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education. Completion of the Louisiana Department of Education background check and certification requirements. At least one year of experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school-based setting. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders in a virtual environment.
