[Remote] Mobile Platform Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Tailscale is a company focused on creating a secure and easy-to-use Internet experience for users across various devices. They are looking for a Mobile Platform Developer to contribute to the development of their product, with a special emphasis on mobile platforms such as iOS and Android, while also working on backend services.
Responsibilities
- Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to client code and backend services
- Bring a special focus on our mobile platforms, iOS and Android, while contributing to common code that supports macOS, Windows and other core client platforms
- Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and/or Kotlin
- Unit and integration test development and maintenance
- Cross-target code sharing
- Familiarity with mobile VPN infrastructure
- Providing support for the latest Apple and Android platform features while maintaining compatibility with a reasonable subset of older systems
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Strong understanding of software development principles, capabilities, and limitations of mobile platforms
- Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, and/or Kotlin
- Unit and integration test development and maintenance
- Cross-target code sharing
- Familiarity with mobile VPN infrastructure
- Providing support for the latest Apple and Android platform features while maintaining compatibility with a reasonable subset of older systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently
- Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup
- Proficiency in Go is desirable
- Experience with general networking concepts - DNS, VPNs, IP Networking, routing, etc
