[Remote] Part Time Financial Planning Instructor
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Oakland University is a nationally recognized doctoral university of high research activity, and they are seeking a Part Time Financial Planning Instructor to teach various financial planning topics. The instructor will be responsible for developing course content, evaluating student performance, and maintaining current knowledge in the field of financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update course syllabi in consultation with the PACE Program Director, using the approved syllabus template and ensuring alignment with program competencies and learning objectives
- Prepare and deliver online, evening course content in the assigned instructional format, including lectures, learning activities, and assessments
- Communicate clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes to students, including detailed grading policies, expectations, and course requirements in alignment with CFP® Board standards
- Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes through assignments, examinations, and other assessments, and assign grades in accordance with program standards
- Respond to student inquiries, including questions related to final grades, and consult with the Program Director as needed
- Maintain current knowledge of professional practices, industry standards, and emerging trends in personal financial planning
- Participate in required orientations, meetings and complete mandatory training programs by PACE established deadlines
- Employ culturally competent and inclusive teaching strategies that support engagement, belonging, and success for both domestic and international students
Skills
- Certified Financial Planner, CFP®
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in the field of financial planning
- Current knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the relevant subject matter
- Commitment to the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex and conceptual information clearly and effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn instructional technology and online teaching tools
- Active engagement in professional associations within the financial planning field
- Ability to work effectively with international professionals and students, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity
