Why This Role Matters

As the Customer Development Manager for one of arenaflex’s premier national retail partners, you will be the analytical engine that drives category growth, optimizes inventory performance, and translates raw data into actionable business insights. This is a remote‑first position, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while staying deeply connected to a high‑impact, cross‑functional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Stewardship: Own the end‑to‑end management of multiple data sources—including point‑of‑sale (POS) feeds, syndicated market data, and internal shipment logs—to monitor the execution of vendor programs and assortment strategies.
  • Insight Generation: Synthesize complex data sets into clear, concise recommendations that align with both arenaflex’s and the retail partner’s strategic priorities.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop, maintain, and communicate performance dashboards that capture sales, profit margins, market share, and inventory fill rates on a weekly and monthly cadence.
  • Strategic Reporting: Produce polished, presentation‑ready reports for senior leadership, retail account teams, and external suppliers, ensuring insights are actionable and visually compelling.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Translate technical findings into business language for diverse audiences, ranging from data scientists to senior retail executives.
  • Best‑Practice Advocacy: Stay abreast of emerging analytics methodologies, industry benchmarks, and consumer research trends; champion their adoption across the organization.
  • Problem Solving: Identify anomalies, root‑cause issues, and growth opportunities; partner with cross‑functional teams to design and implement corrective actions.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Assess supplier performance against inventory and fill‑rate objectives, providing constructive feedback and strategic recommendations.
  • Project Management: Juggle multiple high‑priority initiatives simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of analytical rigor.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in internal training programs, industry webinars, and professional conferences to keep skills sharp and knowledge current.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, preferably within the adult beverage industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in category management, shopper insights, and market research tools such as Numerator, Spectra, Nielsen, or IRI.
  • Proven ability to integrate disparate data sources (POS, syndicated, internal shipment) into cohesive, action‑oriented recommendations.
  • Strong quantitative and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of influencing strategic decisions through data‑driven storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, VBA) and PowerPoint; experience with data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of tailoring messages to audiences ranging from frontline sales teams to C‑suite executives.
  • Self‑starter attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote environment while managing competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience working directly with large national retail chains (e.g., arenaflex’s top‑tier partners) and understanding of their sales and distribution models.
  • Familiarity with household panel data and advanced statistical techniques (regression, clustering, forecasting).
  • Project management certification (PMP, Agile) or demonstrated project leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising concepts, assortment optimization, and promotional effectiveness analysis.
  • Ability to mentor junior analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement.
