Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative – Patient Support & Health Benefits Advisor (U.S. Remote, Full-Time)
About arenaflex
At arenaflex, we believe that healthcare should feel human. Behind every benefits question, every coverage concern, and every "how do I find a doctor?" call is a real person looking for reassurance, clarity, and a friendly voice that genuinely cares. That is exactly what our Healthcare Customer Service Representatives deliver every single day.
arenaflex partners with leading health plans, provider networks, and care organizations across the United States to deliver world-class customer support that helps members navigate one of the most important parts of their lives: their health. Our remote-first customer care team is the heartbeat of that mission. From the comfort of a home office, our representatives bring compassion, accuracy, and energy to every interaction, turning what could feel like a frustrating phone call into an experience that feels personal, respectful, and helpful.
If you are looking for a career where your empathy matters as much as your work ethic, where you can grow professionally while helping people make better-informed healthcare decisions, and where you join a supportive, award-winning culture that treats its team like family, we would love to meet you.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative – Patient Support & Health Benefits Advisor to join our U.S. work-from-home team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted front-line advisor for members of health plans managed by arenaflex. You will answer questions about benefits, eligibility, enrollment, and online account tools, and you will proactively reach out to members to help them understand and maximize the value of their coverage.
This is a meaningful role for someone who genuinely enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to build a long-term career in the growing healthcare customer experience industry.
Key Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, your day will be varied, fast-paced, and deeply rewarding. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Resolving Member Inquiries with Empathy: Handle inbound calls from health plan members in a friendly, professional, and HIPAA-compliant manner. Listen actively, ask clarifying questions, and provide clear, accurate answers about benefits, claims, eligibility, and coverage.
- Recommending Plan Upgrades: Use your growing knowledge of our product portfolio to recommend plan upgrades and additional benefits that genuinely match the member's needs and life circumstances.
- Conducting Proactive Outreach: Make outbound calls to research and respond to open member questions, follow up on enrollment status requests, and confirm that new and existing members have the information they need to feel confident in their plan.
- Supporting Online Account Navigation: Help members log in to their online health account, walk them through available self-service tools, and guide them to provider directories, facility locators, and digital resources.
- Documenting Interactions Accurately: Capture detailed notes in our CRM system so that every interaction contributes to a complete and confidential record for the member.
- Identifying Service Recovery Opportunities: Recognize when a member's experience has fallen short, escalate concerns appropriately, and partner with leadership to find thoughtful resolutions.
- Contributing to Team Success: Meet individual and team performance goals while collaborating with peers, mentors, and leaders to continuously improve the customer experience.
Essential Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you will need to bring the following:
- Customer Service Experience: At least 6 months of customer-facing experience, ideally in a call center, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or related environment.
- HIPAA Awareness: A strong sense of integrity and a clear understanding of the importance of protecting patient privacy. You understand that member information is sacred and treat it with the same care you would expect for your own.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Comfort: Comfortable navigating multiple systems, learning new software, and typing efficiently while speaking with members.
- Reliable Home Office Setup: A personal computer, a USB wired headset (Bluetooth headsets are not supported), and a smartphone or tablet running iOS or Android for daily log-in. High-speed internet connection with download speeds greater than 15 Mbps.
- Quiet, Professional Workspace: A dedicated area where you can take calls privately without background distractions.
- Residency: Must reside in one of the approved U.S. states where arenaflex is currently hiring. We are not hiring from Alaska, California, Hawaii, or outside of the United States at this time.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following will help you stand out:
- Prior experience in a healthcare, insurance, pharmacy, or benefits-related customer service role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, health insurance concepts (deductibles, copays, networks, formularies), or CRM platforms.
- Experience working from home in a remote contact center environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency (a plus, but not required).
