Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Remote Medical Customer Service Specialist – Part-Time to join our growing revenue cycle team. In this role, you will serve as a critical frontline ambassador for arenaflex, handling inbound calls from patients, insurance providers, and healthcare partners while delivering the highest standards of customer service and accuracy.

This is a fully remote position that offers the perfect balance between meaningful work and personal flexibility. You will be responsible for reviewing and identifying account issues, processing payment transactions, maintaining workflow systems, and ensuring every caller receives compassionate, knowledgeable assistance. Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Medical Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, your daily contributions will directly impact both patient satisfaction and operational success. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Call Review and Issue Identification (Approximately 50% of Role): Serve as the first point of contact for inbound calls through our telephony system. Review and identify account issues promptly and accurately, ensuring every caller receives timely and effective resolution. Your attention to detail will be essential in diagnosing problems and routing concerns to the appropriate resolution channels.
  • Workflow System Management (Approximately 10% of Role): Maintain a thorough working knowledge of arenaflex’s workflow systems to properly assign follow-up dates, process department requests, and document account notes with precision. Your organizational skills will keep our revenue cycle running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Exceptional Customer Service Delivery (Approximately 10% of Role): Ensure all calls received during business hours are answered promptly and handled with the utmost professionalism. Provide exceptionally high-quality customer service to every caller while adhering strictly to company guidelines and compliance standards. Your empathy and communication skills will shape the arenaflex experience for thousands of patients.
  • Payment Transaction Processing (Approximately 10% of Role): Accurately perform payment transactions and confidently request payment from accounts with outstanding balances. Your financial accuracy will help patients understand their obligations while supporting the financial health of the organization.
  • Clerical and Administrative Support (Approximately 10% of Role): Assist with various clerical duties as needed, including email correspondence, facsimile transmission, document management, and other administrative tasks. Your versatility will help the team operate seamlessly.
  • Team Collaboration and Supervision (Approximately 10% of Role): Work closely under the guidance and supervision of team leads and supervisors, maintaining open communication and receptivity to feedback. Your willingness to learn and grow will be key to long-term success at arenaflex.

Working Schedule and Training

To set you up for success, arenaflex provides a comprehensive orientation and training program designed to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to excel in your role. Training takes place Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST, for approximately three weeks.

Once training is complete, your regular part-time schedule will be:

  • Mondays: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM CST
  • Tuesdays: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM CST
  • Wednesdays: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM CST

This condensed schedule offers an excellent work-life balance, allowing you to maintain other commitments while building a meaningful career in healthcare customer service.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for the Remote Medical Customer Service Specialist position at arenaflex, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Medical Revenue Cycle Experience: At least one (1) year of hands-on experience working within a medical revenue cycle environment. This foundational experience ensures you understand the intricacies of healthcare billing, insurance processes, and patient account management.
  • Remote Work Readiness: A dedicated, distraction-free home workspace with reliable high-speed internet connectivity. You must be self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of maintaining productivity without direct in-person oversight.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex billing and account information in a clear, compassionate, and patient-friendly manner.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfort navigating multiple software systems, telephony platforms, and digital tools simultaneously. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to review account information carefully, identify discrepancies, and document findings accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, candidates with the following qualifications will be given priority consideration:

  • Extended Medical Revenue Cycle Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience working within a medical revenue cycle, billing, or healthcare accounts receivable environment.
  • Healthcare Call Center Background: Prior experience working in a medical call center, hospital business office, or healthcare shared services environment.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer types commonly encountered in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
  • Bilingual Capabilities: Fluency in Spanish or another commonly spoken language is highly valued at arenaflex.
  • HIPAA Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of patient privacy regulations and the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality in all interactions.
