Job Description

Department and Project This position is within the Tolling Services team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals specializing in electronic road-charging solutions. Together with our partners, we develop and operate intelligent, kilometer-based tolling systems for international customers, covering the entire business process (vehicle registrations, country booking, providing On-Board Units, position data transmission, charge calculation, and fleet billing). Leveraging digital intelligence and advanced technology, our tolling solutions facilitate seamless mobility across Europe. The team aims to enhance existing services and expand into new domains. As part of an international team collaborating with T-Systems International, you will play a key role in supporting our customers with cutting-edge tolling solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer - Monitoring to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust monitoring solutions to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact our users. Main tasks As a Network Engineer your will: Design, deploy, and manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure with a focus on network security and resilience. Implement and maintain secure networking configurations, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). Collaborate with the security team to conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential risks. Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring. Implement and manage security measures, such as encryption, access controls, and compliance frameworks, to safeguard sensitive data and systems. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure to ensure high availability and minimal downtime. Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on security, ensuring that all deployments meet stringent security standards. Work closely with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Provide on-call support for production environments, responding to security incidents and network-related issues promptly. Stay updated with the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our infrastructure's security posture.

Qualifications

Qualifications Background and required skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering or similar role with a strong focus on network and security engineering. Proficiency in network architecture, including experience with firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and IDS/IPS. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and on-premises infrastructure. Strong knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and incident response. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform. Familiarity with security tools like SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing tools. Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Advantage: Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty. Experience with security compliance standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, or HIPAA. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with zero-trust architecture and microsegmentation. Understanding of DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines. German language Additional information
