About the Role

We are looking for a talented Senior Front-End Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll be someone who loves innovating and problem solving, and gets a kick out of making beautiful and innovative products used by a million users every month. You’ll be passionate about writing scalable, testable and maintainable code to support our fast growing team. We’re looking for someone who can help us take deliver great features while also maintaining and elevating the quality of our React apps. We are at a juncture where we move from an MVP to established products, and your experience will help shape our technology. You’ll have the opportunity to shape our expanding product offering and work on migrations and greenfield projects. You’ll get the opportunity to implement and utilise a variety of technologies, paving the future of Bark whilst enhancing how we solve complex problems that impact millions of users every day. You’ll be encouraged to be as involved as you want, with an opportunity to influence every aspect of the process from ideation and architectural design, right through to implementation.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain elegant, responsive, and high-performing frontend experiences using React and TypeScript Translate UX/UI designs into production-quality interfaces that work seamlessly across devices and browsers Collaborate with product managers and designers to create and refine prototypes for usability testing, A/B experiments, and MVP launches Optimise web performance and accessibility, ensuring our products are fast, inclusive, and meet best practices Develop well-structured, maintainable code, and proactively suggest improvements to our codebase and architecture Mentor and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and encouraging best practices across the team Help shape technology decisions as we modernise our stack, influencing frontend architecture and tooling choices Required Skills and Experience 5+ years experience working with large scale Front end frameworks in a production environment (React, Vue, Angular or similar) 4+ years recent experience working specifically with React Proven, hands on experience with Javascript and/or Typescript A solid understanding of, and ideally experience with, React component libraries Strong experience building responsive web applications optimised for rich and interactive user experiences Desired skills and experience Experience migrating to a micro front end using React Experience with DevOps solutions like AWS tools, and CI/CD pipelines Interview Process Screening Call with Talent Partner (30 mins) 1st Stage - Hiring Manager Stage (30 mins) 2nd Stage - Technical Task (90 mins) 3rd Stage - Values interview (30 mins) Diversity Statement At Bark, we are a platform for people, revolutionising the way professionals and individuals connect since 2014.
