About the Role: As a Senior Bookkeeping Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in our client’s success by overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of their business, as well as managing a team of accountants. You'll be instrumental in alleviating artists' anxiety about accounting and bookkeeping by working closely with them, helping keep their financial affairs organized, enabling them to concentrate on their creative endeavors, entertainment projects, and contributions to shaping the world. What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like: Prepare and complete year-end or month-end financial statements and present them to our clients, corresponding with them to discuss, explain, and advise on accounting-related matters • Lead and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance, mentoring, and training as necessary to ensure high-quality work and professional development. • Assist in onboarding new clients by helping to clean up messy books • Be accountable for the quality and timeliness of all tasks related to a group of clients that are assigned to you • Assist with some of our virtual CFO services, such as budgeting, cash flow projections, KPI reports, consolidations, and other miscellaneous management reports that may be required by our clients • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance and advising clients on potential impacts and opportunities • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls to mitigate risks and improve overall operational effectiveness. What You Need to Succeed: • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and senior management, delivering exceptional customer service, and explaining complex concepts easily • You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred • You have extensive experience (8+ years) in public accounting or related industry, with increasing levels of responsibility • You have 4+ years of accounting management experience in a firm or industry setting • You have proven leadership abilities to motivate and develop teams • You have proficiency in constructing year-end financial statements • You are exceptionally detail-oriented, structured, and organized • You can transform disorganized financial records into coherent structures • You are tech-savvy, including proficiency in QuickBooks, Gusto payroll tax, and Asana project management software • You have the analytical mindset for critical thinking, problem-solving, and making sound decisions • You are comfortable and effective in fast-paced environments • You are capable of meeting tight deadlines Why Join Us? • Fun: The clients we serve are the coolest on the planet.
