[Remote] Fuel Station Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Project Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to support the design and development of fuel systems for national retail fueling clients. The role involves delivering complete, accurate, and safe fuel system designs while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data from site plans, geotechnical reports, environmental documentation, and industry standards to understand project requirements
  • Using AutoCAD and other design tools, develop mechanical system layouts including piping, valves, tanks, pumps, and controls that safely transport fuel from storage tanks to customer dispensing points
  • Collaborate closely with civil engineers, drafters, and project managers to integrate mechanical systems into overall site designs
  • Coordinate with utility companies, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes governing fuel storage and distribution
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and specifications that support permitting, construction, and client decision-making
  • Meet with clients to review design options, address concerns, and ensure project goals are met

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience designing fuel systems, piping systems, or fluid transport systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Strong skills with spreadsheet, word processing, and project management software
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and willingness to travel occasionally
  • Not seeking HVAC-focused experience - this role centers on fuel system design, not building mechanical systems
