[Remote] Software Engineer III (FC Ops)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Spreetail is a technology-driven e-commerce company that operates the full retail supply chain. They are seeking a Software Engineer III to design, build, and maintain backend services for fulfillment operations, ensuring reliability and correctness of transactional systems while collaborating with product managers and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the backend services that power Spreetail's fulfillment operations — inventory management, order processing, carrier integrations, and exception handling
- Own the reliability and correctness of transactional systems that FC operations depend on every hour of every day
- Lead technical design within your pod — driving architecture decisions, establishing patterns, and holding a high bar in code review
- Identify and address systemic issues: performance bottlenecks, data consistency gaps, fragile integrations
- Debug and resolve production issues quickly, with clear communication to stakeholders
- Collaborate with product managers and FC operations teams to translate operational requirements into sound software design
- Mentor SE II engineers and help raise the overall engineering quality of the team
Skills
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong backend focus
- Deep proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem
- Ability to design, build, and maintain production services independently and lead others doing the same
- Familiarity with downstream ML pipelines (Python, dbt, Dagster)
- Experience with SQL Server / PostgreSQL
- Experience with AI tooling: Claude Code for development workflows
- Experience with AWS (primary) — EKS, S3, SQS, EventBridge
- Experience with CI/CD: GitLab pipelines, containerized deployments
- Experience with mobile Android
