[Remote] Sales Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Petra Security is on a mission to stop cyberattacks with their AI-powered platform designed for SMBs. They are seeking a Sales Engineer who will own deals alongside Account Executives, translating technical capabilities into business impact and shaping sales strategy directly with the founding team.
Responsibilities
- Own outcomes across your pod. Carry deals with your AEs from first demo to signed. You're invested in the close, not just the technical win
- Explain how Petra works, without getting lost in the weeds
- Translate tech into business impact. Connect what makes Petra different to what the buyer cares about: less risk, fewer incidents, less wasted time
- Shape sales strategy directly with the founding team
- Multi-thread across technical and C-suite types. Get buy-in
- Represent Petra at conferences, roughly 1-2x/month
- Prioritize ruthlessly. You'll have more live deals than hours. You decide where your time creates the most lift
Skills
- 2–5 years in sales engineering, solutions consulting, or a technical role where you carried or co-owned deals, ideally for a B2B SaaS product
- Comfort running multiple live deals across several reps at once — you context-switch cleanly and don't drop threads
- Ability to connect product capabilities to tangible business outcomes — reduced risk, fewer incidents, operational leverage
- Passion for incredible technology
- Experience selling through the MSP channel
