We are looking for a visionary leader who can steer the Global Adversarial Abuse & Analytics function, combining deep analytical expertise with a passion for safeguarding digital experiences. This is a fully remote, full‑time role offering a competitive rate of $24 per hour, designed for professionals who thrive in fast‑moving, data‑driven environments.

Role Overview – Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics

As the Senior Director, you will own the end‑to‑end strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of arenaflex’s adversarial abuse detection and analytics programs. You will lead cross‑functional teams that span product, engineering, global operations, and policy, ensuring that emerging threats—such as account takeovers, spam, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and AI‑generated abuse—are identified, mitigated, and reported with precision.

This role demands a blend of strategic vision, hands‑on data analysis, and exceptional people leadership. You will be the trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex data signals into actionable policies and product enhancements that keep arenaflex’s platform safe for millions of daily users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a multi‑year roadmap for adversarial abuse detection, integrating risk‑based frameworks, machine‑learning models, and human‑review processes.
  • Team Management: Build, mentor, and scale a high‑performing global team of analysts, data scientists, and engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Threat Detection & Mitigation: Oversee the design and deployment of real‑time detection pipelines that surface abusive patterns, coordinate rapid response actions, and reduce false positives.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, and Global Operations to embed safety signals into product features, user‑experience flows, and policy enforcement mechanisms.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Produce executive‑level dashboards, transparency reports, and regulatory filings that communicate abuse trends, remediation impact, and risk posture to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovation & Research: Lead exploratory projects on emerging threats such as generative AI misuse, deep‑fake content, and coordinated misinformation campaigns.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish SLAs, KPI frameworks, and continuous‑improvement processes that ensure 24×7 coverage across all time zones.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for senior leadership, providing concise briefings, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a global on‑call schedule, including occasional weekend coverage, to maintain rapid incident response capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications (Essential Capabilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading risk‑mitigation or abuse‑prevention initiatives at scale, preferably within a large‑volume online platform.
  • Demonstrated experience building data pipelines and machine‑learning models that detect malicious behavior.
  • Proven ability to manage teams that operate on non‑standard schedules and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to translate large, ambiguous data sets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of influencing cross‑functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications (Favored Capabilities)

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Science.
  • Experience investigating massive data sets for anomalies, fraud, or coordinated abuse campaigns.
  • Hands‑on expertise with SQL, R, Python, or MATLAB for data extraction, analysis, and modeling.
  • Background in security, anti‑abuse, or policy enforcement, with a demonstrated interest in emerging threat vectors.
  • Track record of publishing research or internal whitepapers on abuse detection, AI safety, or related topics.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with a history of building strong relationships across engineering, product, and policy teams.
  • Business acumen to align technical solutions with strategic objectives, balancing risk reduction with user experience.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Ability to design experiments, conduct statistical analysis, and interpret results to guide product and policy decisions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable working with large‑scale data warehouses, streaming analytics platforms, and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strategic Thinking: Visionary mindset that anticipates future abuse trends and proactively develops countermeasures.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Experience hiring, developing, and retaining top talent in a remote, globally distributed environment.
  • Communication: Clear, concise storytelling for both technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior executives and external regulators.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing industry, quickly pivoting priorities as new threats emerge.
  • Ethical Judgment: Strong sense of responsibility for user safety, privacy, and platform integrity.
