Responsibilities
Surgical Curriculum Development
- Develop and refine perioperative learning modules that align with current clinical standards and national certification guidelines.
- Translate complex OR workflows into engaging, visual-based digital training programs that appeal to a diverse range of learners.
- Continuously integrate new evidence-based techniques and procedural updates into course materials.
- Customize course content for varying levels of OR experience, from novice to advanced practitioners. Virtual Instruction and Clinical Training
- Facilitate live, interactive training sessions via webinar platforms to support surgical education.
- Lead asynchronous eLearning programs that enable self-paced skill development.
- Deliver skill demonstrations, walk-throughs of surgical case studies, and interactive decision-tree modules.
- Track learner progress through assessments, quizzes, and simulation-based performance reviews. Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with surgical technologists, anesthesiologists, and nurse managers to align educational content with real-world practices.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews to identify recurring procedural gaps or areas needing reinforcement.
- Contribute to the onboarding and orientation of new OR staff through a structured virtual mentorship model. Quality and Compliance
- Ensure that all content reflects current compliance regulations, including AORN standards and infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate training documentation in preparation for audits and licensing reviews.
- Use learner feedback, training metrics, and post-assessment data to refine materials for maximum impact.
- Advise on clinical risk mitigation strategies related to perioperative processes and safety checklists.

Qualifications
Required Experience and Credentials
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a perioperative/OR setting
- At least 2 years of clinical education or nurse preceptor experience in surgical environments
- Strong understanding of AORN, Joint Commission, and CMS standards Preferred Skills
- CNOR certification or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience with remote education platforms and virtual training tools
