Job Summary As a Music Vocal Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering music education programs that cater to the diverse needs of students. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and musical growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop daily and unit lesson plans that are aligned with curriculum standards and integrate technology to enhance student learning.
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that encourages student engagement, motivation, and participation.
  • Teach techniques of vocal music expression and help students develop their musical talents.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote student achievement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure that students receive comprehensive support.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and/or leadership roles outside the classroom to promote student growth and development.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in music education and incorporate new ideas and technologies into your teaching practice.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of student achievement and behavioral performance.
  • Comply with policies, regulations, and procedures of the school district and building.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Education and/or Music.
  • Eligibility for NCLB Highly Qualified Designation in Music.
  • Possession or eligibility for educator licensure and/or certification in Delaware for Music Teacher.
  • Mastery of the necessary content knowledge and skills to successfully teach Music and deliver exceptional standards-based instruction.
  • Proficiency in automated student information systems for progress and grade reporting and class work documentation.
  • Exceptional classroom management, organization, planning, instructional delivery, leadership, and technical skills.
  • Outstanding ability to motivate and build relationships with students and parents.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience in teaching music vocal classes.
  • Ability to integrate technology into instructional delivery.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instructional methods to engage students in positive learning experiences.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and remote instruction.
