Software Development Engineer in Test

Essential Functions • Contributes to the preparation of a test approach by applying QA techniques and procedures. • Collaborates with product team members regarding application requirements. Reviews requirements, data flow between systems, and data configurations to ensure understanding of environment. • Contributes to the design, development, and support of automated testing suites using established software tools to validate configurations of small sized components, features, and/or applications. • Participates in the programming of reusable and reliable automated scripts. • Executes primarily automated test cases for small-sized deliverables to meet internal testing service level agreements. • Reviews test results against expected results and troubleshoots results as needed. • Updates and maintains an assigned regression test bed. • Documents defects into the appropriate quality management tool and provides collaborative assistance for resolution. • Retests resolved defects according to the defect management process and conducts post-production testing. Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a computer related field or equivalent relevant experience • Prior experience, coursework included, with quality assurance testing languages such as Java, Groovy, JavaScript, and/or SQL, or related experience preferred • Agile development experience preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of quality assurance testing techniques and quality management tools • Familiarity with framework tools, such as JUnit or TestNG • Familiarity with continuous integration tools, such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or Team City • Familiarity with repository tools, such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or Beanstalk • Knowledge of functional testing and web services preferred • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts preferred • Good human relations and customer service skills • Good verbal and written communication skills, including documentation • Good attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills • Ability to work after hours on call as needed Our employment practices are in accordance with the laws that prohibit discrimination due to race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, religion, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, veteran status, active military status, citizenship status, marital status or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws.
