Role Overview – Server Farm Stock and Resource Expert (DIAT)
As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT) within arenaflex’s Cloud Services and Innovation (CS+I) division, you will be at the heart of our data‑center operations. You will manage inbound and outbound logistics, conduct cycle counts, coordinate security escorts for external vendors, and handle warranty and return processes for hardware assets. Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Asset Movement
- Perform accurate data entry for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring each pallet, rack, and component is logged in accordance with arenaflex standards.
- Execute receiving and shipping procedures, including purchase order (PO) verification, Rack Management System (RMS) tasks, and real‑time status updates.
- Coordinate security escorts for external vendors, maintaining compliance with arenaflex security protocols.
- Document all movements in the Asset Management System, applying proper naming conventions and classification codes.
Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to verify physical stock against system records.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies, escalating significant variances to management.
- Maintain detailed records of stock levels, location, and condition, supporting accurate forecasting and procurement.
- Generate reports on inventory health, turnover rates, and asset utilization for senior leadership review.
Warranty & Return Management (RMA)
- Initiate warranty claims for defective hardware, collaborating with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
- Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) tickets, including data‑bearing device (DBD) destruction and secure data sanitization.
- Track RMA status against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely resolution.
Data Security & Compliance
- Adhere to arenaflex’s data security and privacy policies when handling sensitive equipment and information.
- Participate in regular security and health risk assessments, reporting any incidents promptly.
- Complete arenaflex Cloud Background verification and ongoing compliance checks as required.
Customer & Vendor Interaction
- Provide courteous, solution‑focused support to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Communicate potential impacts of inventory issues on service delivery, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and service teams to align inventory actions with business priorities.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- At least six months of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related entry‑level role.
