Why This Role Matters

As an Enterprise Customer Engineer – Data Analytics you will be the technical bridge between arenaflex’s sales teams and our most strategic customers. You will translate complex business challenges into scalable, cloud‑native data architectures, showcase the power of arenaflex’s analytics portfolio, and drive adoption through proofs of concept, migrations, and ongoing technical guidance. Your expertise will directly influence how leading organizations modernize their data pipelines, improve decision‑making, and achieve measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Customer Engagement: Partner with technical sales teams across North America to identify, qualify, and prioritize data‑centric business opportunities. Conduct deep‑dive discovery sessions with technical stakeholders and executive leaders to uncover pain points and articulate the value of arenaflex solutions.
  • Solution Architecture & Design: Design end‑to‑end data architectures—including data warehouses, data lakes, streaming pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes—tailored to each customer’s unique requirements. Produce detailed schematics, schema designs, and performance‑optimization recommendations.
  • Proof‑of‑Concept Leadership: Lead hands‑on POC initiatives that demonstrate arenaflex’s capabilities in real‑time analytics, batch processing, data migration, and governance. Translate proof results into compelling business cases that accelerate deal closure.
  • Technical Advocacy & Enablement: Deliver persuasive presentations, whiteboard sessions, product demos, and technical briefings that highlight arenaflex’s differentiators. Support bid responses, RFI/RFP processes, and the creation of whitepapers or solution briefs.
  • Collaboration with Product Management: Provide continuous feedback to arenaflex product teams, influence roadmap priorities, and help triage technical blockers that affect customer migrations or adoption.
  • Thought Leadership: Publish best‑practice guides, contribute to internal knowledge bases, and mentor junior engineers on cloud‑native data design patterns and performance tuning.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination: Work closely with sales, professional services, support, and engineering teams to ensure seamless handoff from pre‑sales to post‑sales phases, guaranteeing a consistent and high‑quality customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, or supporting cloud‑native architectures in a customer‑facing or technical support capacity.
  • Proven ability to engage and present to both technical audiences and senior executive leaders, translating complex concepts into clear business value.
  • Strong foundation in Big Data technologies and concepts, including data warehousing, data processing, transformation, governance, migrations, ETL/ELT, SQL, NoSQL, and performance or scalability optimizations for batch and streaming workloads.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technical sales, consulting, or solution engineering for cloud computing, data analytics, or Big Data platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecture design, schema development, and query optimization for distributed, scalable systems.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, storage, platform services, and the broader cloud market dynamics, including customer buying behavior.
  • Hands‑on experience building data warehouses, data lakes, real‑time event processing pipelines, and data visualization solutions on cloud‑native architectures.
  • Ability to dissect customer requirements, break them into actionable technical components, and design robust, future‑proof solutions.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of cloud platforms (arenaflex Cloud, AWS, Azure), big‑data frameworks (Apache Spark, Flink, Beam), and data storage technologies (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
  • Programming & Scripting: Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or Scala; familiarity with SQL and NoSQL query languages; ability to write automation scripts for deployment and monitoring.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze large, complex datasets, identify performance bottlene‑cks, and propose optimization strategies.
  • Communication Excellence: Clear, concise, and persuasive communication style; comfortable delivering technical demos, whiteboard sessions, and executive‑level presentations.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Proven track record of influencing cross‑functional teams, building consensus, and driving outcomes in matrixed environments.
  • Customer‑Centric Focus: Empathy for customer challenges, proactive problem‑solving, and a commitment to delivering measurable business impact.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive total rewards package that includes:

  • A base salary range of $159,000 – $239,000, adjusted for location, experience, and performance.
