[Remote] Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ActiveOps is a company that focuses on transforming operations through AI and human intelligence. They are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage and improve their global cloud infrastructure, primarily using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, while contributing to automation and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining Microsoft Azure infrastructure across all subscriptions, ensuring availability, performance and security
- Administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
- Managing the Microsoft Defender suite across Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps and M365, implementing recommendations to improve the organisation’s security posture
- Maintaining and improving Intune device management and compliance across the managed estate
- Building, maintaining and improving DevOps pipelines for infrastructure automation
- Supporting and maintaining cloud application deployments, including upgrades, patch management and DR failover
- Managing and triaging the IT infrastructure support queue, resolving issues in line with agreed SLAs
- Maintaining clear and up-to-date documentation to support the wider team
- Collaborating effectively with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones
Skills
- Hands-on experience administering cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, identity, security and compliance — Azure preferred, though experience with other major cloud providers such as AWS or GCP is welcome
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps and Office 365)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager for device management and compliance
- Server maintenance, patching and application deployment in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, with the ability to run and adapt scripts to support infrastructure tasks
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and firewall concepts)
- Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution, taking accountability until the problem is mitigated or resolved
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities, including cloud, identity, networking and application layers
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, globally distributed team
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102, AZ-900 or equivalent
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD pipeline tools
- Experience supporting and maintaining third-party SaaS applications and integrations
- Experience building and testing integrations or connections between systems and services
- Experience with version control, Infrastructure as Code or automated testing practices
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and AI productivity tools
