[Remote] Senior Fund Accountant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Atrium is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to manage accounting and financial reporting for investment funds. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual fund financial statements and investor reporting packages to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee fund accounting activities including NAV calculations, capital calls, distributions, allocations, and reconciliations for assigned funds
- Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Review general ledger activity, journal entries, and supporting schedules for completeness and compliance
- Assist with year-end audits and financial statement preparation, ensuring adherence to deadlines
- Monitor portfolio investment activity and maintain accurate accounting records for all transactions
- Support process improvements and help streamline reporting and operational workflows
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, fund governing documents, and internal controls
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and investment teams as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within private equity, hedge funds, or asset management
- Prior or current experience in public accounting (audit) with exposure to asset management clients strongly preferred
- Experience working at a fund administrator or directly with an investment fund manager
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting or fund reporting systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates must currently reside in the U.S. and work East Coast hours
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment
- CPA designation or CPA-track preferred
- Experience with alternative investments and complex fund structures
- Familiarity with GAAP and investment partnership accounting
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred
- Continuing education in investment accounting or financial reporting is a plus
