[Remote] Data Engineer (Remote Opportunity)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VetsEZ is seeking a Data Engineer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support healthcare operations, analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Build and optimize data solutions within Azure cloud environments, including Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory
- Integrate data from multiple sources through APIs and other system integration methods
- Develop and support data analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI
- Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and performance across data platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions supporting healthcare and VA initiatives
- Manage and track development activities using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting data engineering solutions in enterprise data and analytics environments
- Experience developing data solutions using Python, Spark, SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing technologies
- Experience with GitHub, data integration, and data analytics solutions
- Experience supporting data analytics initiatives within enterprise IT environments
- Experience supporting Federal government programs and consulting engagements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Strong organizational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting healthcare organizations, federal agencies, or Veterans Affairs (VA) programs
- Familiarity with VA platforms and technologies, including CX Insights, Lighthouse APIs, Medallia, or similar veteran-facing systems
- Experience integrating enterprise applications and data sources through APIs and other system integration methods
- Knowledge of Azure cloud-native services and modern data platform architectures
- Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management and collaboration tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
