[Remote] DevOps Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cyera is a data security startup focused on reinventing how businesses secure data in the cloud era. The DevOps Engineer will design and optimize infrastructure and automation, ensuring secure and scalable environments for data protection solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) with a focus on security, high availability, and scalability
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment pipelines across development, staging, and production environments
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
- Implement automated testing, security scanning, and deployment workflows
- Improve release velocity while ensuring reliability and compliance
- Embed security into infrastructure and deployment practices (“DevSecOps”)
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for security events and system performance
- Collaborate with security teams to meet compliance requirements (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.)
- Own uptime, performance, and scalability of services in production
- Implement observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.)
- Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term system improvements
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams
- Evangelize DevOps best practices and contribute to a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Document infrastructure, processes, and runbooks for internal teams
Skills
- 3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and Linux systems
- Strong scripting abilities (Python, Bash, Go, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Clearance eligible
