What Your Job Will Be Like: Sandia National Laboratories is seeking up to four experienced individuals for Purchasing Support positions within several Procurement organizations. Purchasing Support positions are responsible for the acquisition of goods and services critical to Sandia's mission. The selected candidate(s) will collaborate closely with Sandia's scientific and engineering teams to provide comprehensive procurement expertise including acquisition planning, subcontract placements, subcontract management and closeout, while ensuring compliance and minimizing risk. Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and commit Sandia through contract actions within assigned authority
  • Negotiate price, delivery, performance, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, payment, and maintain necessary records.
  • Oversee the administration of contracts from placement through final closeout.
  • Coordinate and manage procurement activities for commodities, assigned customer sets, or programs.
  • Close contracts, reduce commitments, follow up on invoicing and receiving of goods or services.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions to problems affecting administrative activities related to subcontracts.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external customers, including the ability to build and manage effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of business administration procedures, techniques, and business ethics.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • General knowledge of Sandia and National Nuclear Security Administration policies, directives, management instructions, and procurement procedures.
  • Support other supply chain activities, as requested
  • The selected applicant can be a remote worker located in any U.S. State or District of Columbia. Regular or periodic travel to your assigned work location may be required.

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications

We Require:

  • High school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level or Q-Level security clearance dependent on the needs of the specific organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
