Our team is growing, and we are currently hiring 20 Remote Customer Care Specialists to join our vibrant, distributed workforce. If you’re a people-first communicator who thrives in a flexible, home-based environment and wants to make a tangible difference while earning competitive hourly pay, this is your moment. Peak season is here, and arenaflex is ready to get you on the phone and earning within 7 to 10 days of completing the onboarding process.

Position Overview

As a Remote Customer Care Specialist with arenaflex, you will serve as the friendly, knowledgeable voice on the other end of the line for donors who generously support some of the most impactful causes in the country. You’ll be taking inbound and outbound calls on behalf of partner organizations such as DAV (Disabled American Veterans), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). Every conversation you have will help sustain critical programs, fund life-saving research, and keep beloved educational programming on the air.

This is a contract (1099) remote position that offers true flexibility. You choose when you work, with a minimum commitment of just 10 hours per week, making it an excellent fit for parents, students, semi-retirees, second-job seekers, and anyone who values work-life balance. The role is non-seasonal, meaning consistent opportunities throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle Inbound and Outbound Donor Calls: Professionally answer incoming calls from current and prospective donors, and place outbound calls to follow up on pledges, thank contributions, and confirm recurring gift commitments.
  • Provide Accurate Information: Clearly communicate details about partner organizations, their missions, ongoing campaigns, and the impact of donor support, following approved scripts and messaging guidelines.
  • Resolve Inquiries and Concerns: Address donor questions, complaints, and concerns with patience, empathy, and professionalism — always aiming for first-call resolution.
  • Process Donations and Updates: Accurately record donor information, process pledge commitments, and update account records in arenaflex’s CRM platform.
  • Maintain High Customer Satisfaction: Deliver a consistently positive experience that leaves donors feeling valued, informed, and appreciated.
  • Follow Communication Scripts: Adhere to call scripts and compliance standards for each nonprofit partner, including TCPA and Do Not Call regulations.
  • Meet Performance Goals: Achieve individual targets for call volume, talk time, conversion rates, and donor retention as defined by arenaflex and its clients.
  • Escalate Complex Issues: Identify and escalate calls requiring supervisor or specialist intervention in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Training: Complete initial paid training and ongoing coaching sessions to stay sharp on product knowledge, compliance, and best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Residency: Must reside in the United States.
  • Equipment: Must have a laptop or desktop computer (Windows or Linux only — Mac computers are not supported), a USB headset with microphone, and a hardwired internet connection via Ethernet cable (Wi-Fi-only setups are not accepted due to call quality requirements).
  • Quiet Workspace: Must have a dedicated, distraction-free home office environment where you can take calls professionally and confidentially.
  • Basic Technical Skills: Comfortable with fundamental troubleshooting tasks such as rebooting a computer, clearing browser cache and cookies, uploading and downloading files, and capturing and sending screenshots.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and a friendly, upbeat telephone presence.
  • Call Center Experience: At least 6 months of remote call center experience OR 1 year of brick-and-mortar call center experience.
  • Self-Motivation: Disciplined, reliable, and able to stay productive in a remote, unsupervised setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising, telemarketing, or donor relations is a plus — but not required.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, donor management software, or VoIP platforms.
  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English especially) are highly valued.
  • A genuine passion for charitable causes and community impact.
  • Strong typing skills and comfort navigating multiple software applications simultaneously.

Skills and Competencies for Success

To thrive as a Remote Customer Care Specialist at arenaflex, you’ll bring a blend of interpersonal warmth and practical know-how. We’re looking for candidates who naturally make people feel heard and appreciated, even during brief phone interactions. Emotional intelligence, patience, and resilience are key — you’ll occasionally speak with donors who are frustrated, confused, or simply having a tough day, and your ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused will make all the difference.

Strong organizational habits will help you manage your flexible schedule, track your hours, and stay on top of call notes. Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new platforms quickly will set you up for long-term success. And, perhaps most importantly, a genuine love for connecting with new people will make this work feel less like a job and more like a calling.

Compensation, Schedule, and Perks

  • Hourly Pay: $13 to $15 per hour to start, with opportunities for performance-based increases.
  • Contract Type: 1099 independent contractor — non-seasonal, with consistent year-round work available.
  • Flexible Scheduling: You control your own hours. As long as you commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week, you can design a schedule that fits your life.
  • Quick Onboarding: arenaflex aims to have you trained, on the phones, and earning within 7 to 10 days of acceptance.
  • Work From Home: Skip the commute, save on gas, and work in the comfort of your own home.
  • Mission-Driven Work: Every call you take supports causes that genuinely matter — from helping sick children to honoring our nation’s veterans to keeping educational programming free and accessible.
  • Supportive Team Culture: Even though you’re remote, you’re never alone. arenaflex provides ongoing coaching, peer support, and a responsive management team.
