Position Overview – Why This Role Matters

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Customer Advisor – Special Needs to join our nationally‑remote Family Engagement Center. In this full‑time role (40 hours/week, Monday‑Friday, 9:45 am – 6:15 pm CST), you will become a trusted ally for members and their families, guiding them through complex benefits, claims, prior authorizations, appeals, and more. Your expertise will help families navigate critical transition moments, ensuring they receive the resources, support, and peace of mind they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holistic Family Support: Own end‑to‑end resolution of issues for members with special needs or those caring for children/family members with special needs.
  • Multi‑Channel Member Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact via phone, email, chat, and text, delivering compassionate, memorable experiences.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate ongoing relationships with members, teammates, and external partners to foster trust and continuity of care.
  • Independent Decision‑Making: Apply sound judgment and critical thinking to solve problems creatively and efficiently.
  • Expectation Management: Consistently follow through on commitments, setting realistic expectations for members.
  • Prioritization & Planning: Plan, prioritize, and organize work to meet established objectives and timelines for families.
  • Project Time Management: Ensure follow‑up and outreach activities are completed promptly.
  • Outreach Initiatives: Conduct outreach calls to members referred by executives and partners, initiating supportive conversations.
  • Documentation Accuracy: Maintain precise family counts and case notes within our documentation platform.
  • Team Collaboration: Mentor colleagues, act as a resource, and contribute to a strong, collaborative team environment.
  • Proactive Resource Identification: Anticipate member needs and seek internal or external resources that add unexpected value.
  • Referral Coordination: Determine appropriate referrals to other programs or services, leveraging technology guidance when needed.
  • Member Experience Excellence: Deliver high‑quality experiences reflected in post‑contact surveys and feedback.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience advocating for members or customers, preferably in a health‑care or service‑delivery setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable navigating computer‑based platforms.
  • Ability to work the required schedule (40 hours/week, 9:45 am – 6:15 pm CST) and occasional overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • 1 + year of experience with arenaflex (formerly known as A4Me) or 3 + months of experience with arenaflex (formerly Quick Assist).
  • Claims processing background.
  • Direct experience caring for children with special needs.
  • Previous work in a member‑focused health‑care environment.
  • Service‑delivery experience in social services, caregiving, hospitality, social work, sales, or non‑profit agencies.

While exact compensation varies by location, candidates in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Rhode Island can expect an hourly range of $18.80 – $36.78, based on experience, education, and certifications.
