100% Remote Full-time Open now

About arenaflex and the Opportunity

arenaflex is a forward-thinking, technology-driven organization that partners with healthcare plans, providers, and government agencies to elevate the quality of care delivered to members across the country. Our work centers on data integrity, clinical quality measurement, and regulatory compliance — and at the heart of that mission are the dedicated specialists who keep our databases accurate, complete, and actionable. We are currently seeking a meticulous, dependable, and self-motivated Remote CVS Data Entry Specialist to join our growing Quality Management (QM) team on a full-time basis, with flexible coverage of both day and night shifts from a work-from-home environment.

This is not a routine typing role. As a CVS Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a critical part in transforming raw clinical and operational data into meaningful insights that drive better outcomes for patients, providers, and health plans. Every record you review, every audit you support, and every corrective action you help track contributes directly to the quality of care received by vulnerable populations across Arizona and beyond. If you take pride in precision, thrive in structured yet fast-paced settings, and want to grow your career in healthcare quality, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote CVS Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities that combine data accuracy, clinical review support, and collaborative quality improvement. Your core duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Comprehensive CVS Data Entry: Accurately and efficiently input clinical, operational, and audit-related information into arenaflex's proprietary CVS databases, ensuring that every record meets internal standards for completeness, consistency, and confidentiality.
  • On-Site and Desktop Clinical Audits: Participate in the planning, scheduling, and execution of clinical and medical record reviews across all lines of business, including AHCCCS, DES, and DCS-CHP. When field travel is required, you may be asked to visit provider offices up to 80% of the time to perform in-person chart reviews and validate data accuracy at the source.
  • Quality Measurement and Analysis: Take part in the ongoing execution and progress tracking of the QM Work Plan activities. Use measurement and analysis techniques to process, evaluate, and present recommendations aligned with QM targets and organizational goals.
  • Post-Audit Surveys and Follow-Up: Conduct post-survey interviews with clinical and leadership staff to discuss audit findings, clarify ambiguous documentation, and gather qualitative context that supports quantitative results.
  • Corrective Action Plan (CAP) Development: Assist in drafting, formatting, and distributing corrective action plans in collaboration with senior QM staff. Help providers and internal stakeholders understand gaps, prioritize remediation steps, and establish realistic timelines.
  • CAP Tracking and Follow-Through: Diligently monitor the completion status of corrective action plans, logging updates, escalating delays, and ensuring that all commitments are honored within agreed-upon timeframes.
  • Audit Tool Creation and Refinement: Contribute to the design, testing, and continuous improvement of audit tools used across all populations served by arenaflex. Provide input on usability, data field requirements, and scoring logic.
  • Data Integrity and Confidentiality: Safeguard protected health information (PHI) and sensitive member data in strict accordance with HIPAA regulations, arenaflex policies, and contractual obligations with our healthcare partners.
  • Inter-Rater Reliability Participation: Take part in inter-rater reliability exercises and the development of scoring guidelines to ensure that audit outcomes remain consistent, objective, and defensible across the QM team.
  • Meeting Participation: Attend scheduled QM meetings, training sessions, and team huddles — both virtually and occasionally in person — to share insights, align on priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for the Remote CVS Data Entry Specialist role at arenaflex, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required. Degrees in health administration, public health, nursing, health information management, or a related field are strongly preferred, though equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Professional Experience: At least one year of professional experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or social services environment. Familiarity with clinical documentation, medical records, or quality improvement processes is highly valued.
  • Travel Capability: Must be willing and able to travel to provider offices up to 80% of the time when on-site audits are scheduled. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently in the field are essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, conditional formatting, and basic formulas). Comfort with learning new platforms, databases, and audit tools is expected.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize findings, draft professional correspondence, and interact respectfully with clinical and leadership staff at all levels.
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work full-time hours across day and night shifts in a fully remote setting. arenaflex offers structured scheduling to support work-life balance while meeting operational coverage needs.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following credentials and experiences will set standout candidates apart:

  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Arizona or a compact state.
  • Prior experience with clinical record quality measurement, medical record review, or QM audit scoring.
  • Background in case management, care coordination, or utilization review within a managed care or government-funded program environment.
  • Experience working with AHCCCS, DES, DCS-CHP, or other Medicaid and child welfare programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to spot inconsistencies, omissions, and patterns in large data sets.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as NCQA, HEDIS, or state-specific quality reporting requirements.

Skills and Competencies for Success

Success at arenaflex as a CVS Data Entry Specialist requires a unique blend of analytical thinking, clinical awareness, and personal discipline. We look for team members who demonstrate:

  • Unwavering Accuracy: A natural commitment to getting things right the first time, with the patience to double-check entries, reconcile discrepancies, and ask the right questions before submitting work.
  • Adaptability: The ability to shift smoothly between independent remote work, collaborative virtual meetings, and on-site provider visits — often within the same week.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the discipline to meet daily, weekly, and monthly productivity targets without sacrificing quality.
  • Critical Thinking: The capacity to interpret clinical documentation, identify potential quality concerns, and escalate issues appropriately through established channels.
  • Discretion and Integrity: A deep respect for member privacy, confidentiality agreements, and the ethical standards that govern healthcare data.
  • Team Orientation: A collaborative spirit and a willingness to mentor newer team members, share best practices, and contribute to a positive team culture.
