Position Overview
As a Remote Healthcare Customer Advisor – Special Needs Family Support Specialist you will work from anywhere in the U.S. while providing holistic, empathetic assistance to members and families navigating complex health‑care situations. You will be the trusted point of contact for families dealing with special‑needs challenges, helping them resolve benefit questions, claim issues, prior authorizations, appeals, and more. This full‑time, remote role offers a structured training program, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, end‑to‑end support to members with special‑needs or caring for family members with special‑needs, ensuring timely resolution of complex benefit, claim, and billing issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact via phone, email, chat, and text, creating memorable, positive experiences that build trust and loyalty.
- Develop and nurture ongoing relationships with members, caregivers, and internal teammates, fostering a collaborative network of support.
- Make independent decisions, applying sound judgment and critical thinking to solve problems creatively and efficiently.
- Set realistic expectations, follow through on commitments, and communicate clearly to keep members informed throughout their journey.
- Plan, prioritize, and organize daily tasks to meet established objectives and service level agreements for families with low, moderate, and high needs.
- Track and maintain accurate family counts and interaction details within arenaxflex’s documentation platform.
- Participate in outreach initiatives, initiating contact with members referred by executives, partners, and community organizations.
- Mentor new teammates, share best practices, and act as a resource to strengthen the overall team performance.
- Proactively identify additional resources—both internal and external—to add unexpected value for members, including referrals to specialized programs or services.
- Consistently achieve high post‑contact survey scores and positive member feedback, reflecting the quality of the experience you provide.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience advocating for, assisting, or resolving issues on behalf of members or customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to create correspondence, manage simple spreadsheets, and handle email/calendar tasks.
- Ability to work a full 40‑hour week, Monday through Friday, 9:45 am – 6:15 pm CST, with occasional overtime as business needs dictate.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with arenaxflex’s internal platforms such as A4Me or Quick Assist (1+ year or 3+ months respectively).
- Background in claims processing or health‑care benefits administration.
- Personal or professional experience caring for children with special needs.
- Previous work in a member‑focused health‑care environment or service‑delivery role (e.g., social services, caregiving, hospitality, social work, nonprofit, sales).
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex benefit terminology and translate it into clear, actionable language for members.
