[Remote] Sr. AI Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to architect and build LLM-driven applications and AI platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build LLM-driven applications and AI platforms
- Design, optimize, and deploy Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Work across Generative AI, traditional Machine Learning, and automation use cases
- Deploy and operate AI systems in cloud environments, ensuring high performance and scalability
- Collaborate with backend, cloud, data, and product teams to integrate AI solutions
- Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in best practices, and help define AI engineering standards at CoPilot
- Lead the design and deployment of enterprise-grade AI platforms integrated with existing client technology stacks
- Engage in architecture discussions with stakeholders and client teams, offering technical advice and recommendations
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI engineering, with a focus on Generative AI, RAG, and cloud-based AI systems
- Strong background in Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning (ML), and AI-driven automation
- Hands-on experience building LLM-driven applications, agentic workflows, and AI microservices
- Deep expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including document ingestion, chunking strategies, embeddings, vector search, re-ranking, and response grounding
- Practical use of tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, AutoGen, and CrewAI for LLM orchestration and multi-agent systems
- Strong foundation in classical ML techniques such as classification, regression, clustering, ranking, and feature engineering
- Experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow for model development and experimentation
- Proficiency with vector databases like MongoDB Atlas Vector Search, FAISS, Pinecone, or similar
- Strong cloud experience, including deployment of AI services and workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with cloud AI platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Services, GCP Vertex AI
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment patterns
- Experience implementing MLOps/LLMOps, including model versioning, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or similar), experiment tracking (MLflow, Kubeflow), and AI observability
- Understanding of cost, latency, performance optimization, and secure, multi-tenant AI deployments
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in building backend services and APIs
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working in consulting or enterprise environments
- Comfortable participating in architecture discussions with client teams
- Ability to explain AI trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to mentor and lead teams, with an interest in growing into an AI Engineering Lead role
