[Remote] Offshore -Senior Azure/Fabric Data Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Smartbridge is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of overall data engineering experience, including strong expertise in Azure Data Factory, SQL, and ETL processes, as well as recent experience working with Azure Synapse Analytics.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Design and implement data models and data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics
- Optimize SQL queries and perform performance tuning on large and complex datasets
- Work with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and other Azure data services to support analytics and reporting needs
- Implement data security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC) and data masking
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
Skills
- 6 to 8 years of overall data engineering experience
- At least 1 year of recent Synapse experience
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, and ETL processes
- Develop, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Design and implement data models and data warehousing solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics
- Optimize SQL queries and perform performance tuning on large and complex datasets
- Work with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and other Azure data services to support analytics and reporting needs
- Implement data security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC) and data masking
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
- 100% remote role (offshore) — must be available to work second shift to overlap with the U.S. team until 12:00 PM CST
- Six-month probation period prior to full-time confirmation
- If Azure certification is not already held, it must be completed during the probation period
- Power BI or other data visualization tools
- Python or Spark exposure
- Databricks experience
- Microsoft Azure certification
- Industry experience in Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, or Food & Beverage
