[Remote] Senior Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer will oversee data engineering and collaborate with teams to deliver secure and scalable cloud-based solutions while ensuring data integrity and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee data engineering, reporting, development and delivery of hosted and cloud-based solutions which are secure, performant and scalable
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to prepare and deliver complex data sets that meet business needs
- Participate in Information Technology strategic, budgeting and project planning functions
- Defines standards, procedures, and methodologies to ensure the security, integrity, resiliency, scalability and performance of enterprise data resources
- Lead DE support, maintenance and change management activities including service levels, efficacy reviews and task/resource scheduling
- Evaluate and adopt third party tools, add-ons, and interfaces that strengthen our product suite or operational efficiency
- Stay abreast of evolving technology, standards and engineering practices that embrace security, quality and automation
- Participate in proactive assessments, lifecycle and capacity management/planning, business continuity and disaster recovery to maintain service levels
- Participate in maintaining system standards, information security, Incident Response and Disaster Recovery plans that adhere to regulatory requirements working within industry standards and the enterprise security posture
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in Database/Data Architect role or equivalent experience
- 5 years managing and mentoring data engineering teams or similar disciplines
- 5 years recent practical experience implementing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric/PowerBI, Snowflake, MongoDb and data lake technology administration, ETL, high availability, deployments, and disaster recovery
- Extensive practical experience designing, developing and managing traditional and cloud databases, data lake, data warehouse and NoSQL solutions
- Demonstrated experience managing and participating in complex, cross-functional projects and driving technical innovation
- Ability to thrive as a member of a geographically distributed organization
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong ability to compile, research and analyze complex data
- Ability to convey complex topics to non-technical audiences verbally and in writing
- Experience working in Azure DevOps, supporting SDLC, CI/CD development and deployments
