[Remote] SAP S4/Hana Consultant w/CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) Compliance

They are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP S/4HANA Consultant to lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance for a government contracting client, ensuring adherence to federal regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of SAP solutions that satisfy CAS requirements for government contracts
• Configure Project System (PS) specifically for government reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of direct vs. indirect costs, allowable vs. unallowable costs, and funding limits
• Ensure standard reporting mechanisms are built to easily extract data for Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) or similar regulatory audits
• Configure and maintain Product Costing (CO-PC) to ensure precise material valuation, cost estimate breakdowns, and manufacturing variance analysis aligned with CAS disclosure statements
• Streamline AP invoice flows and integrate them seamlessly with procurement to ensure three-way matching, proper cost center/WBS element assignment, and accurate cash flow reporting
• Optimize the Purchase Order (PO) life cycle for indirect materials and services, ensuring proper compliance tracking from requisition to settlement
• Oversee core MM/IM structures, including material master data, valuation classes, goods movements, and physical inventory processes
• Configure and fine-tune MRP parameters to balance inventory levels while maintaining compliance with government-mandated material tracking
• Support the integration of EWM with core MM/IM to ensure seamless warehouse execution, traceability, and inventory accuracy
• Implement 'QM Lite' processes to handle basic incoming inspections, quality certificates, and non-conformance tracking without over-complicating the logistics footprint
• Maximize the use of S/4HANA standard reports, Fiori apps, and standard CDS views to provide real-time visibility into compliance metrics, project spend, and inventory valuation

Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP ERP implementation experience, with at least 2 full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementations
• Deep understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and government contracting accounting principles
• Proven configuration expertise across the following specific modules: SAP PS: (WBS structures, Network Activities, Cost/Revenue planning, Government Reporting)
• Proven configuration expertise across the following specific modules: SAP MM/IM: (Indirect Procurement, PO flows, Material Master, Inventory Valuation)
• Proven configuration expertise across the following specific modules: SAP CO-PC: (Product Costing, Cost Component Splits, Variance Analysis)
• Proven configuration expertise across the following specific modules: SAP FI-AP: (Invoice processing, integration with MM)
• Proven configuration expertise across the following specific modules: Logistics: MRP, EWM integration, and QM Lite
• Strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills to interface with C-suite stakeholders and auditors, and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams
• SAP S/4HANA Certification in Financials, Project System, or Procurement
• Prior experience supporting DCAA audits within an SAP environment
