Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OM Group, Inc. is hiring a Data Engineer / Senior ETL Developer to build and support secure, high-performing enterprise data pipelines. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, as well as collaborating with data architects and analysts to support enterprise data initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex ETL processes to support enterprise data integration and reporting needs
  • Develop, test, debug, and optimize scripts in Bash and Python within Unix and Linux environments
  • Extract data from diverse sources including databases, flat files, and external systems
  • Transform and cleanse data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability across downstream systems
  • Load and validate data within enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, or analytical environments
  • Automate ETL workflows and scheduling processes to ensure reliable and repeatable data operations
  • Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issues
  • Apply performance tuning techniques to optimize ETL pipelines and data processing efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to security policies, data governance standards, and operational best practices
  • Document ETL processes, data flows, and technical configurations to support maintainability and knowledge transfer
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and system administrators to support enterprise data initiatives
  • Support production data environments and participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution when required

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience developing and supporting ETL processes or data integration solutions
  • Strong experience working in Unix and Linux environments
  • Proficiency developing and maintaining scripts in Bash and Python
  • Experience designing, debugging, and optimizing complex data transformation pipeline
  • Experience extracting, transforming, and loading data across multiple systems and formats
  • Strong understanding of data integration best practices, data quality validation, and performance optimization
  • Experience supporting secure environments and following operational security procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot ETL failures and analyze system logs to resolve data processing issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical processes clearly
  • DoD 8570-compliant certification required (Security+ or equivalent)
  • Active Secret clearance required
