[Remote] Director, Commerce & Product Legal

The Director, Commerce & Product Legal will lead the integration of legal operations with AI and product innovation, shaping how legal teams function and supporting the launch of next-generation products.
Responsibilities
- Using AI as a force multiplier — embedding AI‑powered legal tools into everyday workflows to unlock scale, speed, and insight
- Designing for growth — building programmatic, repeatable, and flexible legal frameworks that support a rapidly expanding marketplace
- Partnering deeply — collaborating with product, engineering, marketing, and commercial leaders to deliver pragmatic, business‑aligned legal guidance
- Driving execution — turning strategy into clear roadmaps aligned to business OKRs and measurable outcomes
- Standardizing and simplifying — creating playbooks, templates, and guidance that empower teams to move faster with confidence
- Leading with agility — staying ahead of legal, regulatory, and industry developments in cloud, AI, and emerging technologies
Skills
- Extensive experience advising on complex commercial and technology agreements, particularly within cloud and software ecosystems
- Demonstrated success operating both in private practice and in‑house at a technology‑driven organization
- Proven leadership in building scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks that support growth
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance legal risk against business opportunity in an AI‑native context
- Working knowledge of intellectual property, open‑source licensing, software distribution, and evolving AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy considerations
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative approach that earns trust across senior leadership and cross‑functional teams
- Hands‑on comfort with AI‑powered tools, modern productivity platforms, and CRM systems
