The Remote Data Engineer you’ll become is a critical partner to product, analytics, and engineering teams, building robust data pipelines that feed machine‑learning models, business intelligence dashboards, and real‑time decision engines. Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Design & Development: Gather requirements, design source‑to‑target mappings, and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and other cloud data warehouses.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement data validation, profiling, and auditing processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards.
• Automation & Orchestration: Create and maintain automated workflow schedulers (e.g., Airflow, Prefect) to run data jobs reliably across development, QA, and production environments.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Partner with data scientists, product owners, and business analysts to translate business needs into technical specifications; produce clear documentation for pipelines, schemas, and data contracts.
• Performance Tuning & Optimization: Monitor pipeline performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply best‑practice optimizations for query efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Version Control & CI/CD: Manage code repositories using GitLab/GitHub, implement DevOps practices, and support continuous integration and deployment of data assets.
• Containerization & Environment Management: Package data services with Docker, ensuring consistent runtime environments across all stages of the development lifecycle.
• Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for production pipelines, troubleshoot incidents, and implement enhancements based on stakeholder feedback.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience designing, building, and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines in a production environment.
• Proficiency in SQL, with demonstrated expertise in Snowflake and PostgreSQL.
• Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with data‑processing libraries such as Pandas, SQLAlchemy, or PySpark.
• Experience working with multi‑environment deployments (Dev, QA, Production) and implementing DevOps practices for data engineering.
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker) and source‑control platforms (GitLab, GitHub).
• Solid understanding of relational database design, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
