[Remote] Associate Attorney, Mississippi
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Law Offices of Robert S. Gitmeid & Assoc. PLLC is a consumer protection law firm located in the Financial District of New York City, seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their practice in Mississippi. The role involves managing a diverse caseload, drafting legal documents, and conducting legal research related to consumer protection and civil litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Mississippi
- Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters
- Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc
- Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims
- Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
- While this role is based from home, you may be required to travel for in court appearances
Skills
- Must be currently admitted to practice law in Mississippi
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
- Must possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work easily with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization
- Strong legal research skills -- proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
- Experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and legal memoranda
- Willingness to take on a heavy workload
- Experience with transactional and civil litigation matters
