[Remote] GIS Analyst – ArcGIS Indoors Specialty

They are seeking a motivated GIS Analyst with a focus on ArcGIS Indoors to create, organize, and visualize facility data for various organizations. The role involves data management, field data collection, GIS analysis, and application configuration to enhance safety and facility management.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, process, and prepare spatial, CAD, and LiDAR data for integration into ArcGIS Indoors information models
  • Geo-reference and manually digitize site maps and floor plans when CAD or GIS data is unavailable
  • Digitize and attribute floor plans, assets, and points of interest from CAD, BIM, or scanned data sources
  • Maintain and update high-quality geodatabases (file, enterprise, or hosted) with standardized schemas, metadata, and versioning practices
  • Ensure all Indoors data meets Esri standards and MGT GIS Playbook specifications
  • Conduct on-site data collection and verification, including LiDAR scanning, asset inventory, and field inspections
  • Utilize Esri Field Maps, Survey123, and related mobile applications to capture, update, and verify spatial and attribute data
  • Travel to client locations as needed to perform fieldwork, site validation, or project coordination
  • Perform spatial and facility-based analyses to support safety and security mapping, space utilization, and facility management solutions
  • Create detailed 2D/3D maps, dashboards, and interactive visualizations using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Experience Builder
  • Develop and manage symbology, labeling, and map configurations for floor-aware environments
  • Configure and publish ArcGIS Indoors, Viewer, and Space Planner applications
  • Integrate Indoors data with Esri web and mobile applications, including Dashboards, Field Maps, and Survey123
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to test, validate, and deploy Indoors applications and deliverables
  • Perform QA/QC to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established GIS and Indoors standards
  • Document workflows, metadata, and project deliverables according to MGT’s GIS Playbook and data governance guidelines
  • Participate in peer review processes to ensure deliverable consistency and reliability
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, solution engineers, and CAD/LiDAR specialists to meet project goals and timelines
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Indoors data models and applications
  • Participate in client meetings, training sessions, and technical demonstrations as needed
  • Research and implement emerging Esri technologies and workflows (e.g., BIM integration, IPS, automation scripts)
  • Recommend and develop tools or processes to improve production efficiency and data quality
  • Contribute to MGT’s Indoors GIS solution development and share best practices across the GIS team Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience may be considered
  • Two (2) years or more of professional GIS experience, preferably in facility mapping, spatial data development, or Esri Indoors solutions
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise environments
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Indoors, including Space Planner, Viewer, and Floor Plan Editor tools
  • Experience georeferencing and manually digitizing site maps, CAD drawings, and scanned plans
  • Familiarity with Esri mobile applications, including Field Maps, Survey123, and Dashboards
  • Understanding of spatial databases, metadata management, and standard GIS data models
  • Esri Technical Certification (Foundations or Associate level) required or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire, at the company's expense
  • Ability to travel domestically for fieldwork, data collection, or client coordination
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and quality assurance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with a desire to learn new technologies and contribute to innovative GIS solutions
  • Experience with CAD, LiDAR, BIM, or floor plan digitization workflows
  • Experience conducting field data collection, asset inventories, or LiDAR scanning
  • Knowledge of 3D visualization, symbology, and floor-aware mapping
