Manager Information Technology | Cloud Engineering
About the position As the Manager of Cloud Engineering, you’ll lead a high-performing team focused on delivering scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Your day will involve balancing cloud architecture best practices with evolving business needs—ensuring seamless integration, system performance, and stakeholder alignment. You’ll provide strategic direction on cloud adoption, coach technical staff, and drive continuous improvement in infrastructure, automation, and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Leading and coaching a team that supports system design, implementation, and support for new and existing cloud-based infrastructure.
- Overseeing prioritization, intake, and planning for cloud and infrastructure initiatives.
- Ensuring alignment between business goals and technical architecture through thoughtful system integration and cross-cloud strategies.
- Resolving complex technical and operational issues and implementing scalable, secure solutions.
- Driving customer satisfaction through strong service delivery, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Directs the delivery and maintenance of quality information and communication systems solutions to support PNW business processes that follow all I/S guidelines and architectures.
- Ensures client assistance and 7 day per week/24 hours a day support for operational systems consistent with Service Level Agreements and business processes are optimized.
- Ensures preferred technical architecture and business requirements are balanced to provide effective information and communication systems solutions, sound architecture, and cross-system integration objectives.
- Resolves technical issues and recommends and implements viable alternatives and solutions.
- Ensures departmental costs remain within approved budget.
- Continually improves department work processes.
- Develops unit level strategic plans that support corporate and I/S plans.
- Supports client planning process and prioritization for systems technology implementation.
- Assigns, directs, facilitates, reviews and approves unit work activities.
- Ensure effectiveness and productivity of the work unit.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of business processes.
- Manages, negotiates, and meets client's expectations.

Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Business or related degree or equivalent work experience.
- PLUS eight to ten (8-10) years progressively responsible related experience in area/s of assignment is required to obtain an advanced understanding of information and/or communication systems, operating systems, network communications, equipment and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated leadership skills required.
- Demonstrated high quality oral, written and presentation communication skills, high quality interpersonal and people management skills, and demonstrated experience in project management.
- Extensive experience in information systems methodologies, systems guidelines & architectures, and technologies.
- Delivered cloud solutions in Azure (VMs, AKS, Azure AD, networking) and OCI (compute, storage, Exadata, IAM).
- Designed and managed hybrid cloud architectures and ensured cross-platform security and interoperability.
- Applied strong knowledge of cloud security tools and best practices.
- Worked hands-on with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, OCI Resource Manager).
- Supported CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Developed scripts in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and cloud operations.
- Managed observability with tools like Azure Monitor, Prometheus, OCI Monitoring.
- Led incident response and root cause analysis for critical infrastructure events.
- Managed team capacity, intake, and prioritization of feature requests and tech debt.
- Translated complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights for business leaders.
- Navigated ambiguity with confidence and driven clarity across teams and initiatives.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous supervisory (4+ direct reports) experience preferred.
