Construction Project Manager- Remote East or Central Region Our client is a growing private-equity-backed owner-operator of strategic interconnection data center properties. With eighteen premier data centers located in six metropolitan markets, our client continues to acquire strategic network interconnection data centers and develop Meet Me Rooms (MMRs) and wholesale data center space within those properties to offer the highest quality and most robust direct network interconnections in the market. Who they require Our client has an exciting opportunity for a rising Construction Project Manager to be a part of our client’s expansion and capital improvement projects. The successful candidate will have strong project management experience along with a strong understanding of critical building systems and general building operations. Our client is a close-knit team of A-players. This is a great opportunity for the right person to establish efficiencies and best practice enterprise-wide, with the potential for growth within the function over time. Description of Responsibilities

  • Work with construction and site teams to oversee construction projects taking place within our client portfolio from beginning to end
  • Support the budgeting process for projects cost estimating process
  • Resolve any problems that may arise with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and other contributors
  • Conduct and document all project meetings
  • Review and approve applications for payment including all associated documents such as closeout documents
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Evaluate, communicate, and determine remediation of ricks within assisgned projects
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key team members of the project team
  • Ensure all project deadlines are met
  • Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly
  • Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards
  • Maintain ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors and tenants
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology as related to construction process efficiencies
  • Participate in adhoc projects or assignments as requested

Position Requirements and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, business development, or similar strongly preferred
  • Data Center or telecommunications industry experience strongly preferred
  • Proven working experience in construction management, 5+ years strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and working knowledge of the following software applications: MRI, Avid, Procore, BIM, Primavera or MS Project is a plus.
  • Excellent communicator, confidently articulating complex analysis and solutions
  • Be a detail-oriented problem solver with a win-win attitude, working towards meaningful solutions
  • Experience working independently as well as collaboratively; effectively managing priorities while meeting hard deadlines
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with ease
  • Highest ethical and professional conduct and integrity
