The Capability Manager (Product Owner) supports the management and prioritization of the Product backlog for the scrum team. They collaborate closely with the Scrum Master and Delivery Manager to ensure the team delivers value to the business. This role contributes to aligning capabilities and features to business needs and supports delivery sign-off. Work is moderately structured, with guidance provided for more complex tasks. May serve as a resource to others and lead smaller initiatives. If you are able to work an (EST) Eastern Time Zone schedule, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities

  • Support execution of product roadmaps focused on minimally viable deliverables and future enhancements
  • Apply an agile mindset to daily work and team collaboration
  • Assist in maintaining and prioritizing the Team Backlog, including definition of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to defining and refining product vision in collaboration with senior team members
  • Break down high-level user stories into detailed, testable stories for the scrum team
  • Participate in solution analysis and design meetings for assigned projects and services
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills across teams
  • Review and prioritize feedback and new requirements from project stakeholders
  • Represent the voice of the customer in team discussions, with support from senior product owners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support execution of Product Roadmaps and Release Plans
  • Communicate backlog prioritization and development status to internal stakeholders
  • Escalate issues that may impact budget, timeline, or strategic vision to leadership
  • Partner with Scrum Master to guide and support the delivery team
  • Participate in backlog grooming and release planning sessions
  • Promote Agile development practices and support quality assurance efforts
  • Assist in managing and assessing the impact of defects and provide input on resolution decisions
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and business needs
  • Review development output to confirm completion of acceptance criteria
  • Support documentation of product functionality with Capability Analysts and other team members
  • Help facilitate intake and refinement sessions with stakeholders and core team

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting product development or capability management
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile processes, including user story development
  • 1+ years of experience gathering business requirements from stakeholders
  • Familiarity with agile management tools
  • Proficient with PC-based software programs (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Proven solid communication and facilitation skills, including remote collaboration
  • Proven solid problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Available to work an EST (Eastern Time Zone) work schedule

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile Scrum
  • Experience using CA Agile/Rally or similar agile management tools
  • Experience communicating with internal stakeholders and leadership
  • Experience working with offshore or cross-functional teams
  • Exposure to technical teams or environments

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
