Campaign Director: All Children Belong — Narrative & State Policy Campaign

100% Remote Full-time Open now

About the Campaign All Children Belong is a narrative change and state policy campaign led by the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) and the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. The campaign centers the experiences of children—regardless of where they or their parents were born—to build public support and drive pro-immigrant policy change at the state and federal levels. With a quarter of the U.S. child population living in immigrant families, rapidly escalating antiimmigrant policies are separating families, limiting children’s access to education, health care, and housing, and causing lasting harm to communities. All Children Belong builds on successful Stage 1 messaging research and earned media work. Stage 2 will deepen narrative change, win concrete state policy victories, and build lasting advocacy infrastructure over a 2 year campaign period in eight target states: AZ, CO, GA, IL, MI, NY, PA, and VA. About the Organizations CLASP is a national policy organization with a proven track record of building diverse coalitions in support of pro-immigrant families—including co-founding the Children Thrive Action Network (CTAN), a coalition of more than 150 national, state, and local children’s advocacy groups. The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights has advanced the rights and best interests of immigrant children and families for over 20 years, supporting more than 10,000 children through its Child Advocate Program and driving systemic change through federal policy advocacy and litigation. The Opportunity CLASP and the Young Center are seeking a dynamic and experienced Campaign Director to drive the day-to-day execution of the All Children Belong campaign on a 1-year contract, with the possibility of renewal. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-profile, multi-state initiative at the intersection of narrative change, children’s advocacy, and immigrant rights policy. Candidates can reside in the DC area or in any of the eight target states, and will be required to work non-traditional hours, as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Coordination & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary operational lead and key strategic partner for the All Children Belong campaign, coordinating across CLASP and Young Center teams and external partners.
  • Manage the campaign workplan, timelines, and deliverables to ensure goals are met on schedule and within budget.
  • Track progress across all four campaign pillars: narrative change, state policy wins, coalition infrastructure, and federal advocacy.
  • Serve as the point of contact and organizer for partners in non-profits, labor, political organizations and elected officials.

Narrative Change & Communications

  • Oversee the development and deployment of a sustained digital media campaign across eight target states, including geo-targeted content, streaming, and social media, with the support of communications consultants.
  • Manage relationships with communications vendors, influencer intermediary organizations, and credible messengers such as pediatricians, teachers, and community leaders.
  • Use real-time engagement data to refine messaging strategy and identify which messengers resonate most strongly in specific communities.
  • Coordinate additional polling and messaging research in partnership with CTAN’s research working group and NYU partners.

State Policy & Coalition Work

  • Work with CLASP/CTAN and Young Center partners in eight target states to advance priority policy campaigns, such as state protected areas legislation, expanded guardianship protections, and data privacy bills.
  • Manage subgrants to state-level coalition partners, ensuring accountability and impact.
  • Facilitate state convenings to coordinate messaging, strategy, and peer learning across diverse stakeholder groups—including immigrant rights organizations, child welfare advocates, education leaders, and faith communities.

Federal Advocacy Support

  • Help uplift state policy wins as proof points for federal champions and moderates.
  • Contribute to rapid response advocacy and communications efforts in response to new federal policy threats.
  • Support efforts to build momentum for federal pro-child, pro-immigrant policy solutions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in advocacy, policy, political, or issue-based campaigns, with at least 2 years in a campaign management or senior coordination role.
  • A record of winning campaign victories, mobilizing people into action and building leadership in communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in narrative change, public communications, or digital advocacy campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of immigrant rights, children’s policy, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-partner projects with multiple workstreams and tight timelines.
  • Experience with coalition building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to translate complex policy into accessible public messaging.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving political environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with state-level legislative or policy advocacy in one or more of the target states (AZ, CO, GA, IL, MI, NY, PA, VA).
  • Familiarity with digital media strategy, influencer engagement, or paid media campaigns.
  • Experience managing grants or subgrants.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

What We Offer

  • A mission-driven campaign with national significance and real potential for impact for children and families.
  • Collaboration with two highly respected organizations and a broad network of advocacy partners.
  • A competitive contract of $150,000 annually, with possibility of renewal.
  • A flexible, remote work environment with opportunities for travel and in-person convenings.
