Product Operations Specialist – Travel & Hospitality Services | Ground Transportation & Accommodation Management Job Description

Join arenaflex: Shape the Future of Travel Experience

Are you ready to become part of a dynamic team that's transforming the way travelers experience their journeys? At arenaflex, we believe that every trip should be seamless, memorable, and worry-free—from takeoff to landing and everything in between. As a leading name in the travel and aviation industry, we're committed to delivering exceptional service that keeps our customers coming back, time and time again.

We're currently seeking a talented and motivated Product Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Minneapolis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for travel and hospitality, and wants to be part of a company that's redefining what excellent customer service looks like in the modern era.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our product operations, managing the intricate details that make our travel packages complete. You'll work closely with our Product Development team, external partners, and various internal departments to ensure that every component of our travel offerings—from hotels and rental cars to transfers and travel insurance—is perfectly orchestrated and readily available to our customers.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As a Product Operations Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a crucial role in managing our land seller products. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Merchant Profile Management: Create and maintain comprehensive land seller profiles within our tour management system. This includes merchant settlement information, parent/chain relationships, and inventory allocations where applicable.
  • Pricing Strategy Development: Set up and maintain all pricing and other selling rules for all direct land merchants. You'll be responsible for ensuring competitive pricing that balances profitability with customer value.
  • Electronic Integration: Establish configuration and rules for all electronically connected sellers, ensuring seamless data flow and real-time availability across all distribution channels.
  • New Destination Launch: Manage the land product work for new destinations, from initial partner onboarding to full market launch.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor land products for competitive weather and market conditions. Recommend and implement margin strategies where appropriate to maintain our competitive edge.
  • Technical Collaboration: Participate in troubleshooting tour management system technology issues and third-party technology partnerships (including systems like IBS and HotelBeds). Function as a primary contact with third-party providers when necessary.
  • Marketing Support: Provide pricing and objective information to support marketing materials and promotional campaigns.
  • Issue Resolution: Partner with the Product Development team on individual seller issues requiring clarity and/or resolution, as well as assistance in hotel oversell situations.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Assist other arenaflex departments with inquiries or issues related to destinations and land product offerings.
  • Customer Resolution: Provide and assist arenaflex offices with customer resolution for land products as needed.
  • Annual Planning: Work collaboratively with Product Development to develop and meet annual open for sale (OFS) timelines.
  • Inventory Management: Assist the Product Operations Coordinator with hotel inventory management, land reporting, and other tasks as required.
  • Emergency Response: Help with emergency management for catastrophic events and emergency situations that may affect travel operations.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and nurture trusting relationships with partners at all levels, from operational contacts to senior executives.

What We're Looking For: Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or equivalent work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilities and logical solutions
  • Attention to Detail: Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Work Style: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Initiative: Self-motivated with the ability to drive projects forward without constant supervision
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior management
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of travel or hospitality industry experience
  • Knowledge of arenaflex programs, policies, and procedures
  • Familiarity with arenaflex Reservation systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting
  • Understanding of tour management systems and distribution channel integrations
  • Background in pricing strategy and inventory management
  • Experience working with third-party travel technology providers
