Our client is a forward-thinking chemical manufacturing company seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Process Chemist to join their innovative research and development team. This role is crucial for optimizing existing chemical processes and developing new, scalable, and sustainable manufacturing methods. You will work from the comfort of your home office, collaborating virtually with laboratory teams and production engineers to troubleshoot issues, analyze data, and implement improvements. The primary focus will be on enhancing reaction yields, improving product purity, reducing waste, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of chemical operations. Responsibilities include designing and interpreting experimental plans, conducting in-depth data analysis using statistical methods, and preparing detailed technical reports and presentations. You will leverage your expertise in organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and chemical engineering principles to address complex manufacturing challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process scale-up, hazard analysis (HAZOP), and process safety management (PSM). Experience with various analytical techniques (e.g., GC-MS, HPLC, NMR) and process modeling software is essential. This is a remote-first position, requiring excellent self-discipline, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while staying connected with the team. You will be expected to contribute to intellectual property development through patent applications and internal publications. Strong understanding of chemical safety principles, HAZOP studies, and PSM. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to document research and present findings effectively. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote environment. Experience with analytical instrumentation (GC, HPLC, MS, NMR) is required.
