Freight Conductor

Safely and efficiently operate freight trains according to company policies and procedures. Communicate with train crew members, dispatchers, and other relevant parties to ensure the smooth movement of trains. Conduct pre-trip inspections of trains and equipment to ensure safety and identify any potential issues. Monitor train speed, track conditions, and weather conditions to make necessary adjustments and ensure safe train operation. Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations and protocols for train operation. Work closely with other team members to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services to customers. Keep accurate records of train operations, including delays, incidents, and maintenance needs. Take necessary action in case of emergencies or unexpected situations, following established protocols and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment on trains and in train yards. Continuously monitor and report any potential safety hazards or concerns to appropriate personnel. Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings to stay updated on company policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with customers and provide exceptional customer service. Serve as a role model for safety and professionalism, promoting a positive and respectful work environment. Ensure the proper handling and securement of freight in accordance with company standards. Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure trains and equipment are in good working condition. Assist with the loading and unloading of freight as needed. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements to continuously improve train operation processes. Follow all company policies and procedures and adhere to safety regulations at all times. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while representing the company. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
