[Remote] Generative AI Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Matricstek Inc. is seeking a Junior Generative AI Engineer to support the development of AI-powered applications using large language models. The role involves building, testing, and improving AI-driven features such as chatbots and automation tools while collaborating with senior engineers and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building LLM-powered applications (chatbots, assistants, internal tools)
- Write and test prompts and system instructions for better output quality
- Help implement basic RAG pipelines using embeddings and vector databases
- Integrate AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into backend services
- Support in developing APIs using Python (FastAPI / Flask)
- Test AI outputs, identify issues (hallucinations, incorrect responses), and suggest improvements
- Work with datasets (cleaning, chunking, formatting for embeddings)
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams on feature development
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Basic proficiency in Python
- Understanding of Generative AI / LLM concepts
- Familiarity with prompt engineering basics
- Familiarity with APIs and JSON
- Exposure to tools like OpenAI API, Hugging Face, or similar
- Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn
- Personal or academic projects using chatbots or AI tools
- Exposure to LangChain, LlamaIndex, or vector databases
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs and backend development
- Familiarity with Git and version control
- Internship or project experience in AI/ML
